Iconic Idaho Brand Returns to its Roots in McCall

McCall, ID – The new owners of the Whitetail Club and Resort are pleased to announce the McCall property formerly known as Whitetail Resort, will return to the original brand it opened under back in 1948 and once again be known as Shore Lodge.

The resort was purchased in late August of this year by local businessmen Joe Scott of Alscott Real Estate LLC, Rich Hormaechea of RMH Company, and John Sabala of Sabala Whitetail LLC.

The Shore Lodge is a resort hotel and recognized McCall landmark that offers a fun, affordable, friendly setting for vacations, weddings, business meetings and weekend getaways thanks to the area’s spectacular lakefront setting, generous accommodations, great food, access to the scenic Whitetail Golf Course and genuine McCall hospitality. New rate packages are now in place with rooms beginning at $99 per night.

“This new ownership group has spent many years in McCall and has always had many fond memories of Shore Lodge. We are truly excited by the opportunity to open Shore Lodge back up to the public and we are absolutely committed to making this resort a place we can all be very proud of,” said Joe Scott, Chairman of Alscott Real Estate. “Shore Lodge will once again be the destination for those people who want to enjoy the best of the McCall
experience.”

The new ownership team has met with the current resort membership and informed them of their plans to rename the lodge. The team has the full support of members as they move forward to enhance the operations of the resort. Communication will be ongoing between the new owners and the members as future plans are being determined.

About The New Owners:

Alscott Real Estate is headed by Joe Scott, the chairman of the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation and is the grandson of Joe Albertson, who founded the Albertsons supermarket chain in 1939.

RMH Company is owned by the Hormaechea family – Idaho natives and long-time residents of Boise and McCall. The family has a long, successful history of developing vibrant signature residential, commercial and mixed-use properties in the region’s most desirable locations.

John Sabala is a Boise, Idaho native and a seasoned business professional. He was named President of Whitetail Club & Resort in early 2005, at which time he, his wife and four children moved permanently to the McCall area. He will continue on as a partner in Shore Lodge and Whitetail Club & Resort.
